Brandon Gaoiran
Oberlin Conservatory of Music
Brandon Gaoiran is a double bassist, composer, educator, and College Park alumnus who currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Brandon received his Bachelors of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Comparative Double Bass Studies.  While attending school, he performed in an array of ensembles including the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestras, Jazz Ensemble, and various small chamber groups.  Brandon has gone on two international performance/education tours with the Terence Hsieh Collective and Chase Jackson Quintet (CJQ) to Beijing, China.  Upon completion of his degree he returned to Beijing for one year as a band leader, a sideman for notable Chinese jazz musicians Liu Yue, Xia Jia, Nathaniel Gao, and Lawrence Ku, and an 'artist in residence' at the International School of Beijing.
